This Fall season, Meals on Wheels will be hosting a "Senior Meals on Wheels for the Holidays" Gift Bag Donation Drive. The goal is to offer a holiday gift bag to each of the 300 clients across the entire Frederick County Meals on Wheels program. The gifts bags made such an impact for the senior community last year, they would like to repeat the spread of holiday cheer again this year. Many of the senior clients called or sent letters with thanks for the gifts received and some even mentioned it was the ONLY gift they received for the holidays.
While 300 bags is their goal, there is NO commitment or expectation for any one individual to contribute quantities of 300 of any item. Give as you are able whether it be 1 or 10 or more.
Listed below are the items they hope to include in the holiday gift bags:
Adults size hats, gloves or socks
Sample or full sized toiletries (soap, shampoo, body lotion, personal size hand sanitizer, toothpaste, toothbrushes, tissues) New, unopened containers, please.
Individually wrapped holiday treats (Commercially packaged single serve cookies, snacks, candies, crackers, hot cocoa) please check expiration dates
Small miscellaneous gifts (pocket calendars, decorative notepads, notecards, mugs, decorative hand towels, or other small knick-knacks)
Knit crochet scarves, hats or blankets
Empty gift bags (to be filled with goodies!) size 10”x13” works best!
Large print puzzle books with pencils (cross word or word search) OR Adult coloring books with colored pencils or markers
